Born and raised in Miami, Curtis Lundy is a renowned jazz bassist who has played alongside greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, and Pharaoh Sanders. Expanding upon the themes in David C. Driskell & Friends and its parallel exhibition Invitation to Openness, we invite you to a performance by Curtis Lundy and his quartet to explore the connections between jazz, visual art, and memory. The night will feature opening remarks by Dr. Valerie Patterson, Director of the African and African Diaspora Studies Program, and a post-performance Q+A.
Support for this initiative is provided by the Art Bridges Access for All program and the Green Family Foundation.
Check out our Directions & Parking and Visitor Guidelines pages on our website to prepare for your visit.
We will begin accepting RSVPs on June 9th.
