Learn
The Frost Art Museum provides learning opportunities for the many audiences we serve. We offer engaging tours with our gallery guides, hands-on workshops and lectures with leading artists and art professionals, and activities and training for K-12 teachers and students.
As a university museum, we serve a vital function for the student body by providing research opportunities, internships, volunteer opportunities, and education in visual literacy. We are fortunate to access Florida International University's vast resources and networks.
We understand that visitors have different learning styles, and we provide multiple entry points for engaging with our exhibitions and collection. As one of the largest cultural institutions in Western Miami, we provide our community access to stellar exhibitions and programs and work closely with our neighboring communities to develop programs that support STEAM learning and arts integration.
We also provide learning opportunities for national and international audiences. Every December, we invite a noted sculptor to give a free lecture to the public for Breakfast in the Park. We welcome hundreds of guests visiting Miami to the museum for this official Art Basel event. In addition, twice a year, we hold our signature Steven & Dorothea Green Critics' Lecture series, which features renowned artists, curators, scholars, and critics. Previous Green Lecturers include Christo, Maya Lin, Laurie Anderson, and over a hundred other luminaries from the art world.
