Community Programs

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum is proud to serve its South Florida community by bringing distinguished art and artists to Miami. We offer our community unmatched programming and strive to build partnerships with organizations, clubs and schools. Programs and educational opportunities connect diverse communities with the museum’s rich collection and exhibitions.

Throughout the year, we offer programs for learners of all ages. Breakfast in the Park and the Steven & Dorothea Green Critics’ Lecture series, bring artists, critics, directors, and other luminaries in the art world to the museum. For our FIU students and faculty, we organize academic exhibitions to add visual literacy to their curriculum, and we work with classes to exhibit and curate student shows. Family Days and Artful Playdates offer parents and children the opportunity to learn about art through hands on activities. We welcome everyone to engage with our exhibitions creatively.

Family Days

Recommended for pre-K through middle school ages.

We welcome hundreds of guests to the Frost Art Museum for our Family Days, which take place every spring and fall. We provide a variety of hands-on art activities which bring the museum's collection and exhibitions to life. These activities foster a love of learning in children supporting positive experiences for the entire family.

We are committed to welcoming visitors of all abilities to our museum and programs throughout the year. Families of all abilities are welcome to join in on this exciting day. While all ages are welcome, Family Days are geared to pre-K through middle school-aged children.

Creating transformative experiences through art is a key part of our mission, and we are excited to open a dedicated MakerSPACE where we provide engaging activities for our visitors. The MakerSPACE Workshops expand on themes in the exhibitions, and are designed to encourage participants to explore new concepts and ideas guided by art professionals.

Every hands-on workshop offers multiple ways to connect to art, art history, photography, science and health, technology, engineering, sculpture, and 2D and 3D design.

Workshops are held throughout the year and change to complement our exhibition programming. Please check our events calendar for upcoming MakerSPACE Workshops.
