University Collaborations

First-Year Reading Program Exhibitions

In 2016, the museum launched an initiative with the Common Reading Program to attract new students to the museum. All incoming students entering FIU read the same book and discuss it in their First-Year Experience course. Since its inception, the museum has created an exhibition to complement the First-Year Experience book with visual literacy and introduce students to the museum. In its first year, the museum provided 24 tours and welcomed 2,465 first-year students to the museum.
