Bringing together films, photographs, and works on paper—including selections from the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum’s permanent collection—Sites of Assembly looks at the spaces where public life unfolds and the rituals that shape it. From homes and nightclubs to workplaces and neighborhood gathering places, the exhibition focuses on the ways people come together to build relationships and form collective identities, including in places that persist as images even as their forms change over time. Some of these spaces emerge through leisure and celebration, while others are shaped through the rhythms of labor and daily life. Across these works, public life appears not as an abstract ideal, but as something shaped through movement, labor, celebration, and everyday ritual.

Featured artists include Rafael Domenech, Kevin Jerome Everson, GeoVanna Gonzalez, Quisqueya HenriquezSky Hopinka, Ryan Kuo, Gary Monroe, Ruth Orkin, Terence Price II, and Purvis Young, among others.
