Celebrate the last day of Miami Art Week with free breakfast, art, and music by DJ Benton Galgay at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University for Breakfast in the Park, part of the Steven & Dorothea Green Critics’ Lecture Series. Since 1981, the series has introduced internationally renowned artists, museum curators, scholars, and critics to the South Florida community. Held annually during Art Basel Miami Beach, this signature breakfast at the museum has become a South Florida favorite, bringing together the public, students, and art world insiders for conversation, and connection.
This year, we are honored to feature Manuela Moscoso, the inaugural Executive and Artistic Director of CARA – Center for Art, Research and Alliances, where she develops institutional models grounded in research and collaboration. A curator and cultural strategist with experience across the Americas and beyond, she is the Curator of the 2ª Bienal das Amazônias (2025) in Belém, Brazil, and has held roles such as Senior Curator at Museo Tamayo in Mexico City and Curator of the 2021 Liverpool Biennial. Moscoso's practice centers on institutional building as a curatorial act, connecting artistic, intellectual, and social practices to imagine new infrastructures for cultural production.
In addition, at noon we invite you to an intimate walkthrough of Agustín Fernández: The Alluring Power of Ambiguity with guest curator Elizabeth Goizueta. This tour promises audiences an in-depth view of the life and work of this modernist pioneer who consistently defied strict categorization. Goizueta, who taught Hispanic Studies at Boston College for over two decades, has curated landmark exhibitions on Latin American and Spanish modernism for the McMullen Museum of Art, Pérez Art Museum Miami, and institutions in Mexico and Spain.
