MOSAICO
Italian Code of a Timeless Art
MOSAICO is an exhibition that explores the rich and enduring tradition of mosaic art across Italy, tracing its development over more than 2,000 years along the 1,500-kilometer stretch from northern to southern regions. The exhibition presents a multimedia and immersive digital experience organized around seven thematic stations. Each section offers an environment designed to highlight the materials, imagery, and techniques that define Italian mosaic art—ranging from gilded motifs, symbols and allegories to scenes featuring labyrinths and celestial skies.
In addition to the digital experience, the exhibition will also feature three mosaic artifacts on display in the US for the first time, providing a direct insight into the historical roots of the medium. MOSAICO draws a connection between classical traditions and contemporary visual languages, highlighting the influence of mosaic art across time.
The exhibition is produced by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and is organized in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Miami.
