Please join us for the 145th edition of our signature Steven & Dorothea Green Critics' Lecture Series featuring internationally renowned artist Xavier Cortada.
A Cuban-American visionary and inductee of the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, Cortada’s remarkable interdisciplinary career bridges the realms of art, science, and activism. For over three decades, he has created more than 150 public artworks, ranging from striking murals to participatory installations. His efforts have engaged communities across the globe, catalyzing creative problem-solving and inspiring action. His projects have mobilized thousands to restore over 25 acres of Miami’s coastal wetlands, exemplifying the transformative potential of socially engaged art in driving systemic change.
Since 1981, the Steven & Dorothea Green Critics’ Lecture Series has introduced internationally renowned artists, museum curators, scholars, and critics to the South Florida Community. These speakers have shaped art history through their scholarly, creative, and leadership contributions. They have inspired us to think critically, investigate further, and consider the discourses and practices that shape the world of art.
This event is free and open to the public, made possible by the generous support of the Green Family Foundation.
