Founded in 2010, Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

Why slow

When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert. Come and join us in a day of self-discovery that begins with a program of pre-selected works for close looking, followed by an art making session with a professional artist and board- certified art therapist Leah Guzman. The day ends with Aditya Gir, founder of Pranoga, who will lead participants through mindful slow movements and breathing exercises.

Slow Art Day at the Frost Art Museum FIU is in memory of Helena Venero.

American sign language interpretations will be provided for this event.  asl interpretation logo
