The Frost Art Museum presents Tertulia Nights, an after-hours experience that takes place every second Thursday of the month. Tertulia Nights promotes an exchange of ideas and dynamic modes of creation and amplifies new voices, inviting local artists, scholars, and changemakers interested in engaging with the community in innovative ways.

About the Artist
Carolina Cueva was born in Lima, Peru and raised in Miami, Florida. An artist and educator, Cueva works in sculpture, performance and 2D works. She is one half of the performance art duo Cuentos Retablados along with artist Jahaira Rios Campos y Galvez.

Cueva draws on her Quechua Indigeneity, Andean heritage and her cross-cultural upbringing. Cueva’s work speaks of the artist’s experience of parts of herself displaced by colonialism in Peru and immigration to the United States. She aspires to tell a larger, and often invisible, narrative of Indigenous experience and history.
