While women have made significant strides in the past decades, society continues to place great emphasis on women's looks. These unrealistic beauty standards (amplified through media) have had a drastic impact on women, their body image and overall wellness.
In our inaugural lunch series Art & Health: Her Body of Art, in partnership with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, panelists Dr. Samantha Behbahani, Dr. Zulma Berrios, artist AdrienneRose Gionta and moderator Denise H. Harris, Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer of West Kendall Baptist Hospital and Advisory Board Member of the Frost Art Museum will discuss how art can help women see their true beauty and live healthier lives.
After the panel discussion, mimosas and a healthy lunch catered by Sergio’s Restaurant, guests will meet artists Donna Haynes and Leah Brown for a viewing of their group exhibition Suddenly Last Summer and a tour In the Beginning was the Word: Works by Corita Kent with Curator Klaudio Rodriguez. In addition, attendees will get an exclusive first look at Resonance/Dissonance, a video art exhibition featuring female artists from the de la Cruz Collection.
General Admission: $35 per person
