Gallery Guides

As Gallery Guides you will engage with our diverse visitors by leading tours of our exhibitions, collection, and Sculpture Park. We welcome visitors from around the world to our exciting events and provide them with enriching programs that create memorable learning experiences.

Gallery Guides can partake in unique artful experiences including visits to other museums, sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes looks at museum exhibitions, and one-on-one conversations with artists, curators, and scholars. Applicants undergo rigorous training to learn the highest standards of content and presentation. Those wishing to volunteer should be comfortable with public speaking and working with diverse groups of visitors.

Gallery Guide Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-hour per week commitment or at least 75 hours of volunteer service per year
  • Availability to volunteer during a weekday, weekend, or evening hours
  • Adherence to Frost Art Museum guidelines

Application Periods: Every August and January.

Event Volunteers

We rely on our volunteers to support our vast educational programs, and we have many different types of volunteer positions with varied levels of training and time commitments. Our volunteers lead art activities at our Family Day, set-up and assist with workshops, programs, and events, and serve as representatives of the museum.

Volunteers are recruited from our FIU campus and community. High school students are welcomed during the summer. Applications are accepted in August and in January of each year. All volunteers must submit a volunteer form, background check, digital fingerprinting and participate in an interview.

Application Periods: Every August and January.
