Artist Bio
Gonzalo Battaglia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 21, 1974. As a child he came to the United States, where he finished his education and began his professional life in the Arts and Education. He has been teaching for over twenty years as well as being involved in the museum work. From 2003 to 2006 he served as Curator of Education at the Art Museum at Florida International University, during his time there it became the Frost Art Museum. Leaving in 2006 he joined the M-DCPS Museum Education Program and has been working in the classroom and in Museum Galleries throughout Miami-Dade for the last 16 years; bringing art to the youth of M-DCPS. He currently works as a Curriculum Support Specialist for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Visual and Performance Art Department. He is an artist and writer and has produced illustration for children’s books and novels and self-published a graphic novel.
