This panel discussion will examine the critical role that museum educators often play in bridging museums to their communities. Educators are also the eyes and ears on a community which helps define a museum’s identity. We will hear from three educators whose work has extended beyond the physical boundaries of museums and whose initiatives and strategies have both informed and clashed with programmatic direction. This conversation will interrogate the formalization of museum education as a career pathway, as well as the challenges museums educators generally face in museum hierarchies. This program will be live with the opportunity for Q&A to follow.
