Celebrate our current exhibition, To Survive on This Shore, in a special Mixtape Monday with Chief Curator, Dr. Amy Galpin. This exhibition captures the complex experiences of older trans adults by pairing emotive portraits of the individuals with interviews that enhance the viewer’s connection to each story. The featured individuals have a wide variety of life narratives spanning the last ninety years, offering an important historical record of transgender experience and activism in the United States. Galpin will contextualize the photographs by Jess T. Dugan with rarely seen works found in the museum’s collection. Free drinks provided by Night Life Brewing Company.

Mixtape Mondays present ideas from FIU faculty across disciplines, using the museum’s collection as a focal point to talk about their research interests. Join us for an informal conversation over snacks and refreshments provided by Night Life Brewing Company.

This event is free and open to the public. Please sign-up below.
