Join us for a talk with Octavia Yearwood. Yearwood is an artist, programmatic curator, author, and co-founder of This Girls Lunchbox; a social club for creative lesbian and queer Miami women. Yearwood creates and hosts programs for arts institutions, organizations, and companies nationally. In 2016, Yearwood was named an Emerging Arts Leader by Americans for the Arts and one of the top 40 Black Leaders by Legacy Magazine. She will speak about her practice, including her engagement with the arts and education communities in Miami.
Octavia Yearwood relocated to Miami in 2012 to expand her arts services company, Team Ohhh. Through Team Ohhh she provides dance and visual art enrichment programming in public schools, private schools, and dance studios around the world. She has been an educator for the last 15 years, using the arts to bridge the gap between community and academia.
